Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)On 08/05/08 at a location at 270 North Rangeline Road, Columbia, Missouri - Employees were exposed to an explosion/struck-by hazard while using the pressure air line distribution system in the Wet Stone Shop where part of the system included polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic piping regulated in excess of 120 p.s.i. Abatement certification is required for this item - use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.
