Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: a) On or about May 7, 2008 throughout the facility; ladders, such as but not limited to, step ladders, extension, portable stairs, were being used to access elevated work surfaces without utilizing safe work practices exposing employees to fall hazards. One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this condition would be; require employees that use ladders to be trained on the care and use of ladders as described in ANSI A14.2-2000. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIREDATION
