Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) On or about 5/20/08 at Gates 16 and 18 at Buffalo International Airport; during provisional servicing of 700 Series 737 jetliner, employees use 300 Series Phoenix Metal Products Inc. mobile work platforms to service 700 Series 737 jetliners requiring them to step at distance greater than 19" exposing them to fall hazards. One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this condition would be; require employees to use the higher profile mobile work platform when servicing 700 Series jetliners. NO ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
