Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1): The employer failed to furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees: The employer failed to furnish employment free from recognized hazards as follows: (a)At the Eastern and Warm Springs Commercial Center construction site, an employee was installing an awning on the retail building, and stood on the top and mid rails of a Skyjack SJIII 3219 scissor lift. The employee was exposed to possible serious injuries from a fall of approximately 10 feet to the concrete below. Reference: ANSI/SIA 92.6 - 1990 American National Standard for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms Section 8.10.1 Personnel Footing. Personnel shall maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working thereon. One feasible means of abatement would be to follow the requirements of ANSI/SIA 92.6 - 1990.
