Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to dust explosion, deflagration or other fire hazards from dust collectors being located inside a building. a) Femco Area: The Tenkay (Farr) dust collector was located inside of the building, as observed on or about October 30, 2008. b) CNC Area: The Tepco Pulsatron dust collector was located inside of the building, as observed on or about October 30, 2008. c) CNC Area: The Sternvent dust collector was located inside of the building, as observed on or about October 30, 2008. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO RELOCATE THE DUST COLLECTORS OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING PER NFPA 654. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIREDATION
