North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Shop #2 - The rated load was not marked on the lifting devices. Ref: ASME B30.20-1.2.1:Rated Load. The rated load of the lifting device shall be legibly marked on the main structure or on a tag attached to it where it is visible. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to have the lifting device load tested and marked.
