Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries while unloading wooden forms from the back of a truck. Forms were 4 x 2 feet and approximately 35 pounds each and were not adequately braced to prevent them from tipping. The load of forms tipped and landed on the employee's arm, breaking a wrist. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: 1) Implement safe procedures for unloading forms from the back of the truck. 2) Provide adequate bracing for the load of forms while loading and unloading. "ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM"
