Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falls or being struck by other vehicles while riding on the back of a Hyrdo- seeding truck: On 05/24/2010 CSHO observed an employee riding on the back of the Hydro- seeding truck exposed to falls and other moving traffic. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means to correct the hazard is to have employees ride in the cab of the truck until arriving at the location that needs to be seeded.
