Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
Employer AAA filtration plant - Employees were exposed to leakeage on the
ceiling of the
Minillas water filtration plant, due to deterioration on the ceiling, it
had blisters, and the painting
was being lifting from it. There were four employees exposed during their
working shift,
sometimes the floor got wet during rainy days.
Hazard: Injuries, and illnesses related to slippery floor, and dust from
the ceiling.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is to apply, a
sealer to the inside and outside of the ceiling,and roof in the workplace.
Patrono AAA planta de filtracion - Empleados estaban expuestos a
filtraciones del techo en la
planta de filtracion de Minillas,  tenia bolsas de pintura, debido al
deterioro del mismo.  Habian
cuatro empleados expuestos durante su turno de trabajo, a veces el piso se
mojaba cuando llovia.
Riesgo: Lesiones, y enfermedades relacionadas a piso mojado y polvo
generado de la pintura
del techo.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es aplicar un
sellador al techo, tanto fuera como dentro, en el lugar de trabajo.
