Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/06/08 Location:Rear Corner of Chapel Condition:Employees, engaged in the use of a Vermeer Brush Chipper, were not trained in the safe operation and hazards associated in chipper operations as required in the operator's manual. Among other methods,one feasible means of abatement would be to train employees in the operation of the chipper in accordance with the Vermeer Brush Chipper's Operators Manual. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
