North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falls: a)warehouse, Central District 1 storage cage, the employer did not provide adequate, safe access to supplies on a shelf 7 feet 8 inches off the floor. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard would be to lower the shelf to less than 4 feet to access supplies, and to retrain employees on the safe use of ladders.
