Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being Struck-by truck trailers in the yard: a) Worksite located at 2 Hope Street, Jersey City, NJ Yard truck traffic is not controlled exposing employees to being struck by trailers accessing the scale. Violation disclosed on 8/11/08 AMONG OTHERS, ONE FEASIBLE AND REASONABLE MEANS OF ABATEMENT IS TO: 1) Create a yard traffic control plan that will limit employee exposure and clearly state the flow of traffic to the scale and 2) Train employees on yard traffic control procedures
