Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Marcus Hook Refinery, 15-1 Plant, Water treatment, Brine water Feed - Sunoco, Inc. (R&M) did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that non-pressure rated PVC pipe and pipe fittings were used in a pressurized piping circuit. On or about 4/13/2009. One feasible and reasonable means of abatement would be to install appropriate pressure rated pipe and pipe fitting, and adequately support the piping circuit. DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS REQUIRED.
