Section 5(a)(1) or the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employee in that the employees were exposed to fire and explosion hazards; (a)Dust Collector - An enclosureless dust collection system with air handling capacities over 5000 cfm was located inside the building, on or about March 19, 2009. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct hazards is to comply with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 664, "Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Explosions in Wood Processing and Woodworking Facilities" (2007 edition) as it applies to your operation and equipment including but not limited to the following: *Locate dust collection equipment in accordance with Section 8.2.2.5.1.4. VERIFICATION REQUIRED
