Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck by hazard from the steel/metal storage racks not being anchored to the floor: a.8 Meca Way, Norcross, GA - Employees were retrieving and stacking assembly washer parts onto the steel/metal storage racks that was not anchored to the floor, exposing employees to a struck by hazard, on or about 03/05/09. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to follow the installation instructions and the ANSI standard MH16.1-2008 referencing the anchoring of the storage racks.
