Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fracture & amputation hazards: a) Production Area - The Flexo EG-117 corrugator cutting press machine was not equipped with a safety trip wire exposing employees to caught in nip point hazards. The safety trip wire was missing at the driver side. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to provide an emergency stop cable similar device as required by National Fire Protection Association NFPA 79, Section 13.2, Emergency Stop Devices. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
