North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard while standing on the elevated forks of a rough terrain forklift: a)Jobsite, three employees, who were working on the roof, stood on the elevated forks of the rough terrain forklift for the descent to the ground and were exposed to a fall hazard of up to approximately 25 feet. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to use portable extension ladders to access the roof and to come down from the roof.
