Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazard: a) Employees were exposed to fall hazard of approximately 25 feet while working from an elevated Haugen work platform attached to a Mustang 844 rough terrain forklift. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: Wear personal fall arrest system as described in the operating instructions and warning section of the Marv Haugen Enterprises Work Platform Safety Manual. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
