Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: a)In the old freezer room, rack D71-73: Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from falling stored product and parts of a storage rack system as a result of a collapse of the rack system that had been damaged. Feasible and acceptable methods of abatement to correct this hazard include, but are not limited to the following: 1)Conform to procedures prescribed by the manufacturer in that all damaged components should be replaced with new. 2)Have the capacity of repaired storage racks certified by a competent person.
