Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)In-bound overstock warehouse area: Employees were being elevated on the forklift trucks to retrieve merchandise from the overhead racks. Exposing employee to a fall hazard 6 to 10 feet above ground level. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: Employer should prohibit employees for being elevated on wooden pallets onto the forks of the Daewoo and Toyota forklift trucks in order to retrieve merchandise from the top racks. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
