Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard from improperly used stepladders: a) At the northeast corner of the site, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of 11 feet while performing tree trimming operations from the top step of a 12 ft. fiberglass stepladder. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide all employees who use a ladder with appropriate ladder training in correct ladder use. The ladder manufacturer can provide information on correct ladder use. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED.TION
