Industrial area - Employees were exposed to hazards of being struck by an
overloaded hoist as
it falls.  A CM 1/2 Ton hoist did not have a load rating marked on the
hoist clearly legible from
the loading position as required by ANSI B30.11 1973 paragraph 11-1.1.2.
Among other methods, one method of abating this hazard is to test load the
hoist with 125 of
its expected maximum load to determine its capacity and post that capacity
on the hoist.
29 CFR 1903.19(c)(2) abatement of the above violation was verified at the
time of
