causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in

exposed to falling load hazards:
Hite-Line area and Trolley Room - Employees were exposed to hazards of
being struck by an
overloaded hoist.  Frequent and periodic inspections have not been
performed on the 2-Ton
Dayton, 2-Ton CM, and 1/2-Ton Dayton overhead hoists.
Among other methods, one method of abating this hazard would be to perform
frequent and
periodic inspections as recommended by ANSI B30.16-1973, Overhead Hoist,
16-2.2.1.
Inspections include, but are not limited to, controls and operating
mechanisms for improper
operations; safety devices for malfunctions; deterioration or leakage in
air systems; and,
deformations, chemical damage, or cracks in hooks.
29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the
above violation is
completed.
