Marketplace, Kyle, TX, where employees were standing on the midrail of a
Genie GS-1930 to
reach higher work elevations, exposing employees to the hazard of falls.
"Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to comply with the manufacturer's requirements and ANSI/SIA A92.6-1999 for
Self Propelled
Elevating Work Platforms. Section 8.10(9) requires "Personnel footing.
Personnel shall maintain
firm footing on the platform floor while working thereon. Climbing by
occupants on the midrail
or toprail of the aerial platform is prohibited."
