Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)TDI Unloading, Building #3: Where employees were involved in transferring Toluene-2,4-Diisocyanate (TDI) from a tanker truck to the inside of storage tanks, a suitable facilities for quick drenching and flushing of the eyes and body were not provided for immediate emergency use, on or about, 7/20/09. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard would be to: 1)Comply with the ANSI Standard Z385.1 titled " Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment", B-20, 1981, Section 1. This standard establishes minimum performance requirements for eyewash and shower equipment for the emergency treatment of the eyes or body of a person who has been exposed to injurious materials.
