North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falling to the ground from a height of 24': a)job site - two employees were observed being lifted on a pallet by a Terex Rough Terrain Forklift (Model TH1056C) without providing a personnel platform. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to provide a personnel platform and properly secured to the forklift. (Reference: ASME B56.6-1992, Paragraph5.15.1(a): Provide a personnel platform which complies with the design requirements listed in Part III of this Standard.)ts
