Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1): Duties of employers. The employer failed to furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees: The employer failed to provide a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm as follows: a.At 4525 Dean Martin Drive, Las Vegas, NV an employee cleaned windows from a window washer stack ladder at a height of approximately 30 feet. Work began approximately 10 feet from the 41" guardrail on the 25th floor balcony. The employee was exposed to potential serious injury in the event that the ladder failed, causing him to fall approximately 30 feet to the concrete surface. Reference: Metallic Ladder Manufacturing Corporation Notice posted on ladder sections:" Total Length of Assembled Sections Not To Exceed 26 feet" One feasible means of abatement would be to follow the manufacturer's instructions.s
