Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:04/15/09 Location:Outside Production Room Equipment:Torit Enclosed Dust Collector, Model: #90, Serial: #46223 Condition:Employees were exposed to dust explosion, deflagration, and other fire hazards from the Line #1 and Line #2 dust collection system, located outside the production room. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to comply with the guidelines outlined in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 61 Standard for the Prevention of Fire and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
