Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushed by hazards: a)Facility, Shop: The employer did not implement procedures to periodically inspect the lifts, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, occurred on or about 04/23/09 Feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to: 1. Inspect the lifts with qualified inspectors in accordance with ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000. 2. Maintain the periodic and maintenance records recommended by the manufacturer and ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000 NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.CE
