Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck-by or crushing hazard. (a)On or about 03/20/09 - Auger Bay, Wire Feed Welder 300-lb hoist, the hook was not equipped with a safety latch. Among other feasible abatement methods, a feasible and useful method to correct the hazard is to install a safety latch in accordance with ANSI B30-16-2003, Section 16-1.2.9.
