Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to:
Location: Galatia, IL; On or about 3/7/2011, an employee was exposed to
struck-by hazards
while being transported in the bucket of a front end loader on the Ford
Model 455D Front End
Loader Bucket, on Bird Lane in Galatia IL.
Among other methods, feasible abatement methods include:
1. Provide additional training regarding the company's safety training
program to be
successfully completed prior to permitting employees to operate heavy
equipment.
2. Follow the manufacture operator's manual safety precautions that during
driving
operations, to only sit in the driver's seat of the front end loader.
Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the
requirement of 29 CFR
1903.19(c).
