Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:03/27/09 Location:Outside Building Condition:An employee operated a Pettibone rough terrain fork lift and did not wear the seat belt provided. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure that operators are trained in and comply with the safe work practices of the Pettibone Fixed and Traversing Forklift Operations and Maintenance Manual. The proposed penalty for this item has been reduced by 50for effective and efficient abatement during the inspection.
