Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:09/11/09 Condition:Employees mixed corrosive chemicals where the eye wash station was 48- 3/4 inches above the floor and only the nozzle on the right dispensed water when activated. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct these hazards is to lower the eyewash station and correct the flow pattern in accordance with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1-2004, Standard for Emergency Eyewashes and Shower Equipment.

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to install an operator restraint system in accordance with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B56.1-2005, Standard for Industrial Trucks.
