Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:03/24/09 Location:Receiving/Washroom Condition:An employee had potential exposure to Dissolve Heavy Duty Degreaser cleaner, a corrosive, when transferring two cups of cleaner from original one-gallon container to the mop bucket. (b)Date of Violation:03/24/09 Location:Receiving/Washroom Condition:An employee had potential exposure to sulfuric acid from adding water to the fork truck's battery. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to comply with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1, "Emergency Eye Wash and Shower Equipment."
