Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) 2500 Broadway, Camden, NJ 08104 - The employer did not develop and implement a written safe distance program for the protection of employees operating a press brake that did not have point of operation guarding. On or about 07/08/09. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19. FEASIBLE ABATEMENT METHOD - Among others, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to develop and implement a safe distance program that conforms to the requirements of ANSI B11.3-1982, Paragraph 6.1.4.3 and OSHA Directive CPL 2-1.25.
