Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of falling by standing on a pallet while being lifted by a powered industrial truck: On or about 11/24/2009, at 6601 Lyons Road, Suite A-6, in Coconut Creek, Florida,employees were exposed to the hazards of falling by standing on a pallet while being lifted by a powered industrial truck. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be would be to follow the manufacturer's recommendation prohibiting people from being lifted by the powered industrial vehicle.
