Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: On or about 01/27/2010, tag lines were not used on concrete slabs on the North side of State Road 84 near Nob Hill Road, in Plantation, Florida. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to use tag lines to control the load being lifted and to keep employees from working near and/or under loads. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS NOT NEEDED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
