North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrical hazards while living in a temporary migrant labor camp. Temporary migrant labor camp comprising five mobile homes located at 200 Gin Drive in Goldsboro, NC - Twenty one migrant workers were occupying this camp while electrical hazards existed as follows: a) The electrical outlet in the kitchen in mobile home #2 was loose in the wall. b) The refrigerator in mobile home #3 did not have continuous path to ground. c) The kitchen light fixture in mobile home #4 was loose, exposing live electrical wires. d) The ceiling light fixture in the back bedroom of mobile home #4 was hanging down from the ceiling, exposing and placing strain on live wires. e) Electrical outlets in the kitchen and living room of mobile home #4 were loose. f) Wiring from the bathroom light in mobile home #2 was exposed and running along the wall to the light switch in the hallway. Abatement Notice: One feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to have a licensed electrician wire this mobile home in accordance with the National Electric Code and local building code requirements.
