Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees due to crushing hazard: a) Route 280 Center Eastbound lane, West Orange, NJ. Employees were observed replacing bits/teeth with the milling machine at a 6% grade, thereby exposing the employees to being crushed if milling machine fell. Violation observed on or about 07/06/2009. Among others, one feasible means of abatement would have been to the machine backed down the hill so that the work would have performed on level ground.ed
