Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1):  Every employer did not furnish
employment
and a place
of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or
were likely to
cause death or serious physical harm to his employees:
The employer did not provide a place of employment which was free from
recognized hazards
that were likely to cause serious physical harm, as follows:
a.At 4412 N Rancho Dr, Las Vegas, NV, one Port of Subs employee was using a
Hobart 1612E meat slicer with a stripped screw that failed to secure the
slicing
carriage to the carriage tray handle.
b.Four Port of Subs employees did not unplug the Hobart 1612E meat slicer
prior
to cleaning it.
The employees were exposed to possible serious injuries.
Reference:  Hobart 1612E instruction manual p.5 - Safety devices
incorporated in the slicer must
be in their correct operating positions anytime the slicer is in use.
Always
unplug the power
cord before cleaning or moving the slicer.
One feasible means of abatement would be to follow the requirements of the
Hobart 1612E
instruction manual to ensure continued safe operation of the Hobart 1612E
meat slicer.
