North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling from a traveling mower: a)jobsite, on May 20, 2009, an employee was observed standing on the mowing deck of a Exmark Lazer Z zero turn mower while it was being driven by a co- worker down the road. Among other methods, one feasible method to reduce this hazard is to follow the Exmark operator's manual which states "NEVER carry passengers."
