Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: amputation hazards,among other methods, one feasible method to eliminate this hazard is to enforce safe operating procedures. Procedures such as those stipulated in the Company training requirements. Location - Industrial Pl, Newton, MA: On or about 6/19/09, employees were exposed to loss of fingers, hands, arms or other body parts if clothing or gloves get caught in rotating parts. An employee was using a 10 inch Monarch Lathe to polish metal rods. "ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR THIS CITATION"
