Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of heat related illnesses: (a)In the vicinity of GPS Grid Coordinates Latitude 35 42 41N and Longitude 120 46 43 W, Camp Roberts, CA - On or about August 20, 2009, and at times prior thereto, employer failed to provide means of providing blockage from direct sunlight by means such as but not limited to tents, canopies, umbrellas and other temporary structures or devices. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS COMPLY WITH THE HEAT ILLNESS POLICY OUTLINED IN TEICHERT CONSTRUCTION INJURY PREVENTION SAFETY PROGRAM DATED APRIL 2007; ANOTHER FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS COMPLY WITH CAL/ SAFETY ORDER TITLE 8, CHAPTER 4, PARAGRAPH 3395.
