Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:08/13/09 Location:Iridite Tank Condition:An employee had potential exposure to Iridite 14-2, chromic acid, when dipping metal sheets at the 32-gallon iridite tank and an available eye wash station was over 75 feet away with obstructed travel. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to comply with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1 "Emergency Eye Wash and Shower Equipment."
