Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to crushed by hazards:
a)Repair Shop, Bay 10: The employer did not follow procedures to
periodically
inspect and repair the lifts, in accordance with the manufacturer's
instructions,
on or about 10/15/09.
Feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to:
1. Inspect the lifts with qualified inspectors in accordance with ANSI/ALI
ALOIM-2000.
2. Repair or replace any noted issues in accordance with the manufacturer's
guidelines and ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000.
b)Repair Shop: The employer did not follow procedures to post and maintain
necessary safety and warning labels on the lifts in accordance with
manufacturer's
instructions, on or about 10/15/09
Feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to:
1. Maintain or replace safety and warning labels on the lifts in
accordance with
the manufacturer's guidelines and ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000.
NOTE:  IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER
IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS
ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY
OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.CE
