a)On August 11, 2009, at the site located at Pfingsten Road (between Maria
Avenue &
Dundee Road) in Northbrook, Illinois 60062, a pedestrian employee of Adair
Enterprises,
Inc. dba Pirtek O'Hare was observed traveling and performing maintenance
task within
the roadway and adjacent to ongoing motor vehicular traffic; without
wearing high
visibility safety apparel .
Feasible means of abatement to the hazards would be to 1) Follow Chapter
6D Pedestrian and
Worker Safety as delineated in the Manual on Uniform Traffic control
Devices, 2003 edition
(Section 6D.03B Worker Safety Apparel) and 2) Use high visibility apparel
such
as vests that
meet ANSI/ISEA 107-2004 Standard for High Visibility Safety Apparel and
Headgear for risk
exposure Class 2 or 3.
