Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm: On or about June 16, 2010, and at times prior thereto, an assessment or determination was not made concerning the condition of the pre-engineered steel type building's roof prior to an employee accessing and walking on the roof at the Saint-Gobain Container facility in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. An employee was exposed to the hazard of falls. Among other methods feasible abatement for this violation includes evaluating the jobsite to determine the load-bearing capacity of the roof prior to accessing and establishing safe work practices and procedures to prevent employee exposure.
