On or about 7-01-13:
Location: Second floor exterior staircase.
a) The Employer failed to maintain the second floor exterior staircase to
prevent injury
to employees. The staircase is utilized as an emergency exit route from
the second floor.
The staircase made of steel is severely corroded from the elements and is
not structurally
sound. Employees trying to escape the building, in the event of a fire or
other
emergency, employees could possibly suffer from bodily injuries.
THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION
FOR THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
