Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees, in that, the
granite slabs were not secured:
a. On or about June 17, 2010, and at times prior, employees were exposed
to crushing
hazards from improper slab storage.  Inside the shop, large granite slabs,
weighing hundreds
of pounds, were stored and transported un-secured. Additionally, granite
slabs were stored
un-secured in the storage yard.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard
is to ensure that all slabs are stored properly and securely.
Additionally, ensure all a-frames
are not damaged through frequent inspection.
