Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards. (a) On or about 09/22/09, in the service bay, employer did not remove the Globe Automotive Lift (G4) Model AFO-7A S/N: W-702G7 from service after one of the locking devices on a lift arm had not been engaging properly, exposing employees to crushing/struck-by injuries from unstable loads while performing maintenance work. Among other feasible methods and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to 1) follow the requirements found in ANSI/ALOIM-2000, 2) follow Globe Lift Company, operation, installation & maintenance manual. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIREDATION
